The Challenge
A family maintaining homes in Chicago (primary residence), Big Sky (ski retreat), Cabo San Lucas (beachfront villa), and Naples (winter residence) struggled with fragmented property management. Each home had different systems, local service providers, and no unified oversight. Security concerns arose when they couldn't confirm a Naples property was secured during hurricane season. Energy waste was rampant—HVAC systems ran year-round in unoccupied homes. Our Solution
SilverGate designed a portfolio-wide Savant ecosystem with centralized cloud management. Each property received: unified security/surveillance accessible from anywhere, intelligent HVAC that enters "away mode" when unoccupied and pre-conditions before arrival, automated leak detection with instant alerts, and remote property checks via integrated cameras. We established a predictive occupancy model using calendar integration—the system knows when the family travels to Big Sky and prepares the home accordingly. A single mobile dashboard provides real-time status of all four properties: security status, climate conditions, energy consumption, and maintenance alerts. Local service teams at each property receive automated notifications for issues requiring physical intervention.
